Time To Talk
Now that you have the architectural drawings, the details and the budget it is now time to start the conversation. Let us know what you think about The Stevens High School Renovation Project. Many people came to the November 7th meeting and made their comments and thoughts heard. We appreciated that and hope you will all do the same.
Claremont is your city, it’s your home and it is all of our responsibility to make prosper. Lets get the discussion rolling. Post here or on our facebook page. Do it anonymously or tell us who you are. Its your choice but please share your thoughts. Below is a link to our facebook page and the SAU website.

I hope that many people will share their opinions with the School Board as soon as possible. Proper planning needs to take place now in order for the plan to pass in the spring. Here are my questions to Claremont citizens and to the School Board:
Where does everyone stand on having MORE downtown parking spaces? In what ways does pavement make our city center more appealing? How does it affect property value in downtown neighborhoods? Is a big high school parking lot an incentive to move your business or family to our city? Are kids really safer having a parking lot adjacent to the school building? Are they supervised there? If not, then why not park them just a LITTLE farther from the building? can we look at existing paved areas for parking instead of removing buildings?
What “green” example are we setting when we destroy to construct?
Say “YES” to high school improvements, and “NO” to tearing down houses! Let’s ask the architects, the school board and the school building committee to really examine this aspect of the proposal.
